Geez, I think whoever she's talking to is more important than her driving. She should be busted for distracted driving. I'm sorry that you got into an accident. Glad that you're okay.

Holy Bumper Cars, Batman! How old was this dingbat? (You mentioned her father, so I'm guessing a teenager.) Talking while driving was bad enough, but then constantly on the phone afterwards, WHILE the cop is trying to talk to her? She was practically begging to be hauled off to jail. Her insurance company is going to love paying off two claims for her accident. (They better not try and make your insurance pay for the third car. "YOU hit him, not our client.")

I weep for this world some days.

She's 18, and the police told us she was responsible for it all. Right now I'm going through my insurance so they can work out the insurance details - I'd rather not deal with her directly. It's not illegal to talk on a phone while driving if over 18, (they prefer hands free, but not a law yet) but if it's use causes an accident, that increases the violation.
Colorado is pretty cut and dry with multiple car accidents - the driver that initiated the chain of events is at fault, unless it's a no-fault situation (usually weather.)
So we might have to pay our deductible and get reimursed, depending on how long it takes to settle everything - hopefully it will get worked out before the repair actually takes place. I'm waiting for a call back to get estimates started, and we'll go from there. :)
