They were saying on the news the other day that Obama was saying he doesn't agree with everything that guy says.. but who knows really? The news says this, then they say that. Can't really believe them anyways.

I find it hard to believe that after being a member of that church for 10 years (i think thats how long it is) he doesn't agree with what the preacher said.

I'm going to research it all a little more before I continue on this, but the church is based on a whole set of "Black Values" or a black way of life kind of thing.....and as a member he would most certainly believe in that. To say he didn't would be like saying I'm a Muslim but I don't believe a word of whats written in the Koran.

haha well despite being a member of that church for 10 years there are still a lot of people who think he is secretly Muslim due to his early childhood. So which is it, you know? I'm not sure you could ever really know without being privy to his personal life, what he is like when nobody else is around.

I'm sure some black churches are kind of racist for lack of a better word, but I think there is a "Black Values" type church around here and I'm pretty sure it's centered more around trying to pull black people away from that stereotypical "men are gangbanger criminals destined to go to jail or be deadbeat dads, women are welfare queens with crazy weave and nails" culture and into a more faith-led, conservative lifestyle. I haven't heard their sermons but it's supposed to be more about rising above the "black culture", rather than demonizing whites or being all "black power" or anything like that.

Oh and I'm not trying to argue either side in particular, just throwing ideas out there, but one thought I had was, the things that preacher is saying on TV may not be what he really preaches about in the church. It might be the situation, like, "here I am with the chance to be on national television, what can I say that will get my ideas out there, let's put it in a really inflammatory way so that I will get more attention" type of thing. Some people really are like that, all about wanting to create a ruckus and have all eyes on them, even if it's not popular stuff they're saying.

Agreed. Although, I will say I saw his reaction on CNN and he honestly looked pretty horrified that his preacher man said those things.
There's just something about Obama I don't like but I really don't know what it is. It has nothing to do with his skin color or even politics, it's just him.
Then again, I don't really like Hilary or McCain either. For me this vote will be about who's the least worst of the bunch, I think.

He was probably horrified alright, horrified that it is all coming to light right here as his campaign is heating up!

True and you're totally right, you don't know someone's hidden agenda until you elect them. Not that he so much seems like the kind of person that wants to split the country into races, but neither does a preacher I guess!

and for a preacher to say GD??

I dunno.....I wasn't planning on voting for him anyways.

You can go to www.fayobserver.com to read the text of his speech from today.

He's all about ending the war....and has the magic plan to do it.
I guess if he's elected we shall see.....
