Okay all you lj friends out there, i pose a question. I'm going to be transfering to a four year university soon, maybe as soon as this school year is over with. I'm undecided on which college i would like to go to, but CMU is looking nice. But anyway, i ask all of you where do you think is a good college to go to and why. No fighting over which ( Read more... )

You are silly.

Um, i don't exactly know yet. I bet that doesn't suprise you. But for a while i wanted to major in theatre, but i'm unsure of that now. Now i might major in the science field. So yeah, i don't know...

Well, major makes all the difference in the world. For instance: My major is Vocal performance, white is why I chose to transfer to IU School of Music. If I were a Choral Ed student or a psych student (two majors that I considered), then I would still be at Grand Valley.

So, if you're going to pursue theatre, I would NOT recommend GVSU. I would, however, recommend Western, Michigan, or even Hope (even though they're up the butt expensive). I don't know anything about CMU, but that seems like a safe bet too.

I would recommend GV for anything science related, however.

If you have questions about transferring and the whole process, I am your girl. I've transferred twice, (not that I'm proud of that fact) but I know the ropes.

So, there's my opinon.

Ok, so I don't really see anything bad with our theater department other than the actual theater sucks. It's pathetic when your high school's auditorium is WAY better than your college's. Oh well, I'm over it. I think there are GREAT people are GVSU and it's growing so much, of course I'd recommend my school to you, Eric. Hehe. Especially if you want to go into anything EDUCATION wise.

I'd also really recommend Western. Have you ever thought about being a future NICER Mr. Klairter? I can totally see you TEACHING theater. Now, that IS the teacher inside of me though, so...hehe. Honestly, I don't know much about CMU other than it's not exactly thriving with things to do and I think you'd get bored very quickly unless you found something on campus to take up a lot of your time. The thing with GVSU and Western is that they are both in fairly big size cities or close to it. I love downtown Grand Rapids, I really do, and although Kzoo is ghetto, it's a good city.

That's my opinion, take it or leave it. Hehe!

I wasn't knocking the theatre dept, nor the people who have chosen to study there, I just wouldn't go there for theatre personally. I haven't been at all impressed with their productions, with the exception of 'Angels in America', and I've told my bro to not pursue his theatre education degree at GV.

But I agree, the school is for sure growing, and the education program is definitely one to be commended.

I'll take your opinion! Yeah, i was possibly thinking about western too.

But yes, i actually thought about teaching theatre. Because i could be in the theatre business and still have a steady job.

Thanks spoon-tastic lover!

I really want to come visit, but i have no clue when i could come because i have been so tied up with homework. I haven't had a break, not even on the weekends. But when i do get up there you have to show me around like a nice tour guide. You have to do that corny tour guide thing where you would say," And on your right we have our beautiful resident halls equipped with everything you need to have a good night's sleep."

But i'll let you know when i'm can get away from Muskegon.
