vanderhoog -I can't proof it but I'm sure the books in the Bible have been rewritten, many times, so why can't rewrite the Bible right now?

mrstogoff -well, you can.. but there is a small problem: nobody will give a damn about your rewriting. at least, unless you will declarer yourself new son of God or something. but it is very difficult and risky business..

The bible is like any other book, it is man-mad and we may criticize it like any other man-made book. Some people would like to leave the genocidal parts out of the book. Some would like to improve the book with a reduction on the obscenity, some people may like to get rid of the detailed instructions how to build the arc of god, how to dress a priest, the extensive family registers, others dislike the plot, prefer a happy end, others like the books of Esther, Noach and Job but find the rest dull.

When we can rewrite Romeo en Julia, we can also rewrite the bible.

All you need is a bit of talent.
