*round of applause*

I agree with all of these apart from Bronson and Otis which I haven't seen. But I trust your judgement.

I'm glad you made me watch The Chaser. I really enjoyed it.

P.S Mmmmm...Wikus...

We've got Otis! You should watch it, it has that slightly Tarantino sense of humour going down in it. I'm not so sure you'll like Bronson, although it does have a lot of cock.

Then again, Irreversible had yards and yards of pole and you can't even remember their waggly hordes.

Have you seen it? It's pretty damn sharp!

If you have, you might remember a foot chase where the killer slips on the concrete, gets up and keeps running. In the behind-the-scenes, the crew all stop dead because it was a genuine accident. They grab the actor, who is banged up a bit and go, "Why didn't you stop?"

He just points at the director, "Because he didn't say, 'CUT'!"

I have not seen it. :(

Maybe I should just go ahead and order it...

It's not perfect (the director overdoes the "slow mo sequence with classical music over it" move), but to be blunt, I can't imagine you not really enjoying it...I just can't believe it's a debut feature!

As one of the people who thought some of the torture in Martyrs was boring (not necessarily because I didn't get the metaphor (and it's true that I didn't), but because I think metaphors themselves are largely boring), I still have to say that this is a great list, and I really enjoyed all the ones I've seen. I actually really, really liked Martyrs, too, despite the slow bits. And I still need to see Best Worst Movie! It hasn't played anywhere in town yet.

Dude, you're going to LOVE Best Worst Movie. George Hardy is amazing.

And cheers for the comment - I know our tastes are slightly different (I rate Kairo as the best flick of the decade, for example!), but I always love reading your stuff and think you're a legend. You've introduced me to LOADS of cool movies, so thank you and thanks for always being a great read.

You know my feeling on Martyrs!

You are lord and king of all good reviews!

Apropos of nothing at all I just bought Cold Prey (Norwegian slasher porn) for 5 bucks at fucking wal-mart!!! It may actually be a shite movie but for price it's oscar worthy really!

This year I challange you to a movie duel sir!!! Man up and let the best reviewer win:P

Or something less fueled by vodka and bad intentions!

I think I had Cold Prey in a previous 'best of the year' list...around #9 or #10, admittedly. It's a straight-up slasher, but a good one. The sequel, though, uhhhh, not so much.

I have a couple of FUCKING KICK-ARSE reviews planned. Italian nonsensical slasher Pieces and the brilliant Return to Savage Beach, a truly abysmally fantastic 90s action movie starring a whole bunch of ex-Playboy chicks with enormous tits and ex-wrestlers with oiled pecs.
