I managed to "delete" my desktop on xp. Didn't realise it was possible. Not sure how much junk I lost, but it was really clean for a while.

When I managed to recreate a new desktop the stupid shortcut links that I never use all came back. Useless... hope there are no lasting problems apart from some random missing files.
