The sad part is that I could still get the same end result by half-assing the whole thing. It would just mean a slower overall progression. Besides, I'm getting rather sick of being one of many people at any given school with my documented background, skills, and training. I think it's time to edge of all the people with similar goals. I can cover in a month what they spend a year studying and still get a better score than they can. That seems a good place to begin.
