I am in Greenville, South Carolina... the picture was taken about 20 minutes from there at work in Travelers Rest.

She was a beauty... if they weren't known to have lethal bites, she would have been my friend.

She would have taken her home and napped with her. Then fed her flies.. it would have been a beautiful friendship till she was eaten by her pet toad, Ribbet or she accidentally sat on her.

Speaking of which.. how much funnier would Charolette's Web be if the spider would have been a Brown Recluse or a Black Widow? Dare I say.. infinately better? Indeed I do!

I don't have a pet toad, and if I did, I would name it Hassan... either way, I doubt that they eat Black Widows... it wouldn't be too smart.

that does make you wonder what kind of spider CHARLOTTE was... I was thinking that she was a tarantula... which would be odd, considering the fact that they usually don't parley in barns.

That would be a brown recluse... she, however, will bite you, make you go into muscle spasms, and become paralyzed and die if left untreated.
