just one moment
I was doing my washing up and thinking that I couldn't think of anything today, that while of course I have a lot of blessings to count: an enjoyable job, a roof over my head, food to eat, etc. there was nothing today that filled my heart with joy and gratitude. Being really listened to
I can not communicate how good it is to have someone listen to you, to help you to think and talk on a deep level about what is going on with you.
And today, not to point you in a direction but to acknowledge that what you are going through is horrible and to take seriously how that makes you feel. -
Saturday
Ruth says that Rebecca got up that morning and declared that it would be a good weekend because marie was coming. I'm obviously more fun than I believe I am. We did cultural stuff at the Lowry and the Imperial War Museam North and then some lovely people came round for a meal and I ate proper vitamins and laughed and enjoyed feeling normal ( Read more... ) -
investing in joy
What are all these posts about joy? It strikes me that, while I'm fighting sadness and illness, joy is something that needs to be looked for, noticed, noted and invested in.
To that end I bought a bird feeder for the garden today and arranged to see the Everitts and my spiritual director over the weekend. -

Where did i find joy today
Getting off the train feeling tried and weary and alone struggling my case to the taxi rank. The taxi driver jumped out of his cab and came round and lifted my case in for me. I thanked him without really looking at him and sank gratefully into the seat. Arriving at my flat, minutes later, he jumped out to help me and the case out. I paid him, ( Read more... )
