how are you supposed to thank someone for being your friend, lover, support, entertainment, screw buddy, happiness. how are you supposed to convey those things into words?
You're right... I don't think you can convey that meaning through words... sometimes words just aren't enough... it's almost like if you try to articulate what you feel, it comes out sounding like less than it is, you know? I think love is one of those unspoken things, like you just KNOW, and you don't even have to say it to each other. But sometimes saying it is just to confirm what your heart already knows, because love is kind of scary too and everyone just needs the words now and then to make the scariness seem less bad... you know what I mean? So no matter how awkwardly written or spoken, it's the feeling behind the words that's important, and he'll understand what you mean.
I <3 you Erica... I wish I could have gotten to see you this summer...but don't worry, I will write you alot from scary cold Ithaca and UPS you some snowballs. ^_^
I reached a point with Ken where I was feeling like that. Where his "I love you" was hallow and void of meaning. But the most important part was that deep down I knew otherwise, and that if I held on I'd find meaning in his words once again.
And I did. I suppose really I always knew they meant something, but felt he didn't quite feel it the way I did. Of course, I was wrong. I thought it was impossible for him to love me more than I love him...but he just might.
