Caca, do what makes you happiest. If it ends, it wasn't a waste of time. You'll have learned so much from each other, even if it's hard. If you stay together, remember what you have learned/are learning and use that to your advantage. Don't get lazy just because time has lapsed. That goes for both of you.

Tell him to stop being an asswipe or you'll leave him. And you mean it. That should get his attention, and if it doesn't....then leave him.
