A friend of mine uses the Schwarzkopf stuff and seems to get good results, though she's naturally fair.

But never, ever use hair stuff without reading the instructions in full! You can seriously damage your hair unless you follow the instructions carefully.

I remember a friend of mine tried the schwartzkopf one and had a rant about it not working (http://anastropheandcheese.wordpress.com/2008/08/27/schwarzkopf-live-luminance-the-dye-is-a-lie/), her hair is naturally black.
Personally I've only ever used semi-permanent ones, but maybe Ellie used a permanent one when she switched from black to purple a few months ago?

Hope the house is all sorted out now

xx

Hi I read that rant which is why I asked about it as I don't want to waste more cash!

I think Ellie used a purple one but it went more purple red and she seems to be going for red now. What purple do you use on your hair?

It's mostly sorted thanks apart from we need to get a plumber out as the hot bath tap isn't working so I'm making do with showers!

How goes Stevenage?

It's a Garnier Movida one, the shade is called plum. Before using that I was dyeing my hair dark brown (think that was the same make of dye) and I could see for a couple of months where the change was, but I don't think it was too noticeable to other people.

Glad to hear the house is ok now :)

Stevenage is a bit boring and I'm quite lonely, but I'm just over halfway through now, and I might get to leave one or two weeks early.

Hope you don't mind me adding you on LJ :) (it's Kim, by the way)

I would sugguest avoiding the Schwarzkopf - it really only works on browns/dark blondes. I had bleached hair and used a red but it came out looking suspiciously ginger. There's a range called Fudge that do permanent, colourful dyes. Expensive at £8 a tube but WELL worth it, I'm told :)

http://www.fudgehair.co.uk/categories/Fudge-Paintbox-Extreme-Colours.htm okay, apparently semi-permanent, but outlasts most 'semi' labels :)
