I could probably sit outside and watch the bees all day. I'm lucky, for Seattle, in that I have a stoop to sit on in the mornings, partly shaded by a climbing rose, with a swoopy wrought iron railing covered in scarlet-flowering beans and a big patch of lavender at its foot. My favorite guilty pleasure, lately, is watching the you tube video of Shakira doing "Hips Don't Lie" at the Grammys. I had heard her years ago, and it's not really my thing, but this year, as I was trolling the interweb, I saw an article about that performance. Boring health things first, as my communication has been spotty lately. I've been spending a lot of time up the sides of mountains, out of cell phone range, or on the lake, with no internet.
