A little howl of self pity

May 31, 2009 00:47

Does anyone actually read this thing any more or am I just typing into thin air?

On the flip side, I'm trying to catch up with you folks. Some of you have lives that are like TV shows - I missed a bunch of episodes and now there are new characters and I don't know any of the story arcs, and I'm kinda lost.

Thank you. I realize I don't comment in your journal hardly at all. My excuse is that a lot of it is about your spiritual practice or your day-to-day life, and I don't have much to contribute on those fronts. I'm trying to get better about such things and be properly reciprocal. I value your political posts but the stuff you report, like rape in the military, enrages me to speechlessness if I let myself think about it enough.

Thank you. Self-pity, Madge, I'm soaking in it.

I read everything when I can, and if I can't, I at least skim everything.

Same here - you have one of those TV show lives where I have missed too many episodes. It's like Heroes but with furs rather than superfolk.

Hm, do you remember where you left off? I can give you a keep recap, if you like.

Oh, that's like asking me where I lost track of Lost. Um, probably just a recap of the current season would be best, if you feel like a quick trip down memory lane.

I read all the time, I just don't often comment.

You've been having a rough time of it, haven't you? I do hope things get better. You've had more than enough pianos dropped on your head for one lifetime.

Me. I'm here (waving hand franticly from back of classroom) I'm not great at the comments, or even the journal keeping, but I do read. Part of the lurking masses.

I remember you mentioning that you read a good piece of Temeraire fic a while back. Do you read in that fandom or is it just once in a while? It seems like a pretty good fandom, if on the smallish side.

Sorry, wasn't me. Really didn't like the book, which is a shame as I like the author's fanfiction and thought the move from fan writing to pro was interesting. But no. Though it did drive me back to O'Brian whom I love with a deep and serious passion.
