There was a period . . . what was going on in my life? Maybe it was some winter when I was home fomr college? Anyway, there was a period in which I saw a fair amount of Dr. Quinn out of the corner of my eye. What a cheesy moment in television that was.

Hellboy had the benefit of an extremely likable protagonist and pretty bloody brilliant creature effects. Oh, and John Hurt. John Hurt's always groovy, even when he doesn't have aliens bursting out of his chest.

It was the last ten minutes that killed me. It's always a bad sign when you realize that you blinked and missed the climax.

oh, and it occurs to me to suggest the airflow through the open window in your bedroom might be improved if you also opened the storm window...
