I'm wondering why you care so much? Are you just an annoyed fan (reason enough) or do you have a connection to the industry?

Basically, it's because the writer's strike was so hushed up in the media. Unless you knew where to look, you really didn't know what was going on. One of my friends is really good at ferreting this stuff out, for both sides, so I'm posting the more relevant stuff.

Other than that, I a am really concerned about what another strike could do to the economy. I am also worried about the AMPTP pretty much erasing royalty rights. For both of these reasons, I think that it is important for the public to know about these issues a) to expose their petty scheming, and b) to get them to end this stalemate.

The facts that I am very pro-union and that I really, really don't want another shortened season of Bones (disgruntled fan) are just side dressing. ;)

OK, thanks. It just helps to put it into perspective to know why you're posting.

I haven't had enough free time to get hooked on anything other than The Daily Show in the last few years, so for once it wouldn't annoy me personally. I found it incredibly annoying back in the 90s when they went on strike and screwed up all my shows, so I understand.

Last year, the strike lasted for five months. We're close enough to California for it to hurt even without the current economic situation. I had at least one student with parents at home more than normal because they worked in the industry.
