Seed Swap

It's that time of year again, so I've been looking through my seeds and thumbing through the catalogs. Instead of just tossing the seed that I don't want, though, I thought a seed swap would be more fun. Let me know if you have something you would like to trade ( Read more... )

i would trade ground cherry for daikon, if you're interested. ground cherries are sweet-tart, tangy, about the size of a pea, but encased in a thin papery outer shell (like a tomatillo, of which they are a relative, but they are NOT spicy!). the plant is sprawling, up to about 2.5 feet in diameter, approx 8 inches to a foot tall. they are prolific; one plant will bear fruits for a whole season and into the frrst frost. i'm growing them again this year, but i have way more seeds than i need left from last year's harvest. and would love to grow daikon, which has a great reputation for breaking up heavy clay soil, with which i am too-abundantly blessed. :)

I was just looking at ground cherries, and thinking that I wanted to try them. I'd love to swap seeds.

I don't know how many daikon you have, but I'd love to have some, as well as yarrowkat. Some Pac Choi also wouldn't be bad.

I have Stevia, Hmong cucumber, and green onions that I gathered seeds from this year.

I've got enough daikon for both of you. Are Stevia and Hmong two different types of cucumber?

No, Stevia is a little plant whose leaves taste like sugar. It's really good in tea, or to just pluck a leave off and eat it like candy. And then the Hmong cucumber are nice, fat, bright yellow cucumbers.
