Today I watched one of my favorite movies, Armageddon. I just love that movie. I actually love Bruce Willis, not in that "hot for the actor" way, but I have always wished that Bruce Willis was my Uncle Bruce. I mean, how fun would that be? Anyway, I'm getting off topic...

Oh man, does it get any better than President Whitmore?! That speech always gets me choked up! I do believe it's the best Hollywood president speech ever...but I disagree about second place. I would give The American President's Andrew Shepherd that honor.

His comments on free speech always get me. God bless Hollywood!

Funny thing is that when I mentioned my writing this entry to Barbara (my mom) she said, "What about American President?" Fact was, I am just not familiar enough with that one.

I thought you might like to know that I went to the movies yesterday (to see United 93...more on that later) and before the previews, during the trivia questions and name scrambles, up popped on the screen a list of "America's Favorite Movie Presidents." Included in that list were Whitmore and Shepherd along with a president I often overlook: Kevin Kline's Dave. No REALLY great speech in that one, but still, a good president.

Oh, and my favorite movie British prime minister, by far, is Hugh Grant's character in Love Actually.
