My mom called me!!!
My mom called me!!!
I got a call today and the person on the phone was the speech therapist working with my mom. She said "Someone wants to talk to you, but you'll have to listen very carefully." It was my mom!! it was very muted and raspy, but she called to tell me she loved me and was thinking of me!

Update on my mom
Well, she was transferred from Duke to Wake Med Rehab, a place that is "supposed" to specialize in stroke and brain related injuries. She left Duke at noon and was supposed to be at Wake Med by 1:00 pm. When my sister arrived at 4:30, she found my mom writhing in the bed, almost slipping off the side of the bed, gasping for air ( Read more... ) -
Update on Mom
They have taken out the intubation tube and done a tracheotomy and feeding tube in her abdomen. She is looking better, but still not fully alert. She can partially open her right eye, move her right foot and slightly wiggle her left foot. Still no movement in the left arm. I didn't realize that she had 12 staples in the back of her head. Update on my mom
First let me say thanks for all the calls, prayers, and love.
She is stable and holding her own. They don't think the breathing tube will come out today though.
We are waiting for the MRI results, though that's a little frustrating since they did it yesterday afternoon.
Will update when I know more.
