I had plans to go to the LCBO today on my day off to stock up on these radio wines, but Ontario Blizzard 2007 is preventing me. Looks like I'll have to postpone the holiday panic shopping for another day. Brilliant.

My holiday panic shopping is in full swing. Luckily, I picked up my wines yesterday, but tragically failed to get two critical gifts, thinking, enh...I'll do that tomorrow.

Looks like a couple of folks are getting Epiphany prezzies.

Any other 2007 liquor recs for the internet? I like to impress my family when I go home...assuming I can get any of the Ontario liquors in the wild wild west.

Shelagh Rogers had these suggestions for wine-with-turkey on her show on Friday and there was a lot of impressive murmurings about the maturity of Ontario wines. CBC endorsement aside, I dislike Ontario wines, but I drink red and I don't think they do red as well as they do white. Icewine is a big deal but it also makes me gag. Unless it's on ice cream but I'm just as partial to caremel sauce and that is cheaper. That said, Magnotta Wineries icewine is supposed to be good and relatively inexpensive as far as icewines go.

The biggest sellers at my liquor store are cheap sherry and high malt liqour beer. Everything I know about wine I know from CBC. And my own extensive taste tests.
