I am torn between sympathy and hysterical laughter at this story. One feels a little sad for the frog, of course, but you have to admit this is an epic way to go.

Huge hailstorm today, 3/4-inch diameter hail. It came down so thick I could barely see across the road. Several hours later, I *still* have drifts of hailstones in my yard. Still plodding along. The painting is done, the heavy cleaning is done, and we've been moving stuff over to the new house every time we drive there. Most of the books and bookcases are moved (my living room is a sea of books), dressers and a lot of other furniture are moved, lots of various odds and ends moved. Got some painting done this weekend, and now we're really seeing a difference. The craft room is completely painted (barring a couple minor touch-ups) and the living/dining area need a final coat. It's really lightened them up and changed the atmosphere, if you ask me.

On the plus side, the ceilings are finished and the walls have been primed. I patched the damaged floor in the craft room and yesterday sealed it with two coats of Kilz. It looks (and smells) much better already ( Read more... )

Closing was last week and we took possession on Saturday. Unfortunately, they did not do any cleaning despite assurances that they would do so. In fact, they didn't leave until hours after they were supposed to be gone. Nothing nefarious, they just deeply underestimated how much stuff they had and how long packing would take. We are currently in the process of *finally* buying a house! Closing is still a few weeks out, but everything has been progressing well so far. Man, the packing and moving part is less stressful than the buying part. It's been a long combination of "Please give me money" and "Please take my money."
