Raise a glass...

Nov 16, 2009 07:31

..this evening, not while you're working. Tonight, I will pour a glass of my best scotch (Glenfiddich) and raise a glass in toast to a great man, my father, who passed this morning. At 87 years old, as my friend Vince says, that's a lot of innings. He lived them well.

I'm very sorry for your loss, Bandit. He sounds like he had a good run.

I'm sorry to hear it. We've got some Glenlivet that will suit the occasion.

It's hard to lose a parent, but as you say, he had a good run. I'll toast you guys tonight.

(oddly, I was playing Yello this weekend while moving and thought of you. As if I would think of anyone else when playing/hearing Yello)

Er, well, I am sure I could think of other people, places, or things. but you would certainly cross my mind. What I meant, not what I actually said.

I'm sad for your loss, man. I've lost two to date and it don't get any easier. I'll toast with a little Maker's tonight; may he rest peacefully.
