Twitter and realignment on LJ

I really like my LJ. I read through old entries all this last week, shuffling all the really old ones into private mode and possibly making everything after 2005 friends only or something. I dunno yet. I like the idea of making my LJ friends only just so that random people can't read it, but I know there are a few people not on my friends list who ( Read more... )

I actually just went through the whole "read my whole LJ" thing, when I ported it to my Wordpress blog (I had to go through each entry since I had a bunch of dupes, etc). It WAS interesting.

However, I went the opposite way - I unlocked just about everything. I've come to the conclusion that there just wasn't anything in there that was saucy enough to make a difference. Well, that's not true - there's about half a dozen entries that I locked down to private because, well, that's how they need to be.

As far as Twitter - I go back and forth with it. Sometimes I have a great time with it, but I'm definitely more of a lurker/reader than a poster.

personally, i still prefer lj over the other social networks. i struggled with consistency in journalling for many years and lj helped me overcome that. don't think i'll ever switch. getting married didn't change that for me =)
posting friends-only by default makes this a consistently safe place for me though.. i highly recommend it.

I actually don't read other people's Tweets as I haven't shelled out the $4.99 or whatever it is for the iPhone app. Will I? Probably at some point.

I Twitter things as I think about them, before I have a chance to dwell on them and make them more dreary than intended.
