I was talking to johnspiff this morning and he asked me if I was going to have a good day, I stupidly said yes. I wish now I could take those words back. Things were going along just fine until I got to work and saw that my first lesson was a one on one kids class with Akira, the spawn of satan. When I was in Japan (admittedly many years ago) children weren't only children. They were the hope and dreams and future carers of their entire family. Some pressure! I had pity for them...

But this little turd sounds like he could use a good kick in the bum.

I agree, things have not changed much here and children are under a lot of pressure to fulfill certain societal expectations. It is a strange country in that sense. I am not looking forward to teaching him today, but the trade off is that I get to teach my favourite kids class today and they are wonderful kids.

Yes you are right he does need a swift kick.
