Without a doubt this is one of the best Christmas presents I will receive this year. It was lovely.
the man before him is still Sandy Cohen and when he tells Ryan to do something, Ryan might as well be sixteen again.
when she smiled up at him and said, “Yes. Most certainly. Indeed and without hesitation, I will take Ryan Atwood as my husband. Forever.”
“I am,” Sandy answers. “And Kirsten is worried things won’t work out and Taylor is a little disappointed that she didn’t think of bringing home a homeless child herself. Ryan beat her to the punch.”
These are just a few lines that once again show just how awesome you are. It constantly amazes me how with just a few words you can perfectly sum up a character.

You have special dispensation from the challenge fic when you write something as touching and wonderful as this story. I always liked the moments when Julie and Ryan seemed to understand each other, and I loved their rapprochement in Season 4. Throughout this fic I kept picturing Julie's smile at Ryan when he woke up from the coma; they had come so far, and that was evidence.

Very poignant and apropriate for the season.

Ryan walks quickly across the room, putting his arms around her, pulling her into a hug.

Julie’s grown to understand over time why her daughter loved him so much.

This made me start as it created such a vivid picture of grown-up Ryan in my mind. Still the caretaker, the responsible one.

Hope you got all your presents bought under the wire!

I'm glad you liked it. I agree. Esp. with the ending Josh gave us...I got the impression that R became even more and more dependable, stable, reliable, etc... IF the show had to end, at least it gave us some closure into the type of man Ryan became.

(Mr. Much was teasing me today because One Tree Hill's new season is being advertised so much on the telly right now. He keeps saying..."What was the name of that teen show you used to watch? It didn't get renewed like One Tree Hill did...did it." I hate him.)
