I've never made my own Christmas cookies before. My mom makes them every year, and to this day I'll help her decorate. We're suckers for tradition that way. However, I'd like to make my own this year to see how it goes. Like everything though, my strange sense of humor has perverted even this seemingly simple and innocent holiday task

I really like the video, there's several actors I recognize even if I don't immediately know their name, and I <3 Neil Patrick Harris.

Also, I'm amused at that method to fix the economy, that's one I hadn't heard before. =p

Really? The news around here was pretty heavy into it, talking about the recession and how "we could really use the boost that gay marriages had been providing." One florist they interviewed was like "I was getting a lot of business from gay couples; I don't know what I'm going to do now."

That might have to do with location/region of the country - I'm guessing it's made less of an economic impact here in NC. And it may be related to the south being a bit different culturally than San Francisco area.

It's also possible I'm just oblivious or not talking to the right subset of my friends about the economy for that point to come up. I really ought to watch the news more often too.

Well, it was kind of a "state economy" issue. That's understandable. California was the only state to allow gay marriage prior to its ban, so it was the only one that felt an economic sag as a result (not to mention the high concentration of gay/lesbian couples in the bay area).
