Windows 7 Beta
Yesterday, I didn't need my laptop a whole lot, so I decided it would be a good time to try out Windows 7. The author of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), has written an editorial in the LA Times arguing that DOMA should be repealed. While he doesn't say that he's had a Christmas Carol epiphany and suddenly loves the gays, he does make some good arguments against his own legislation. Merry Sickmas
Boo on being sick on Christmas. I started getting the sore throat last night, and now it definitely feels like the cold is coming on. Home for the Holidays
Apparently when my parents say "We should agree not to discuss politics", that was code for "We're going to make constant flippant remarks about politics, and you shouldn't argue with us about it". Sigh.
I really like my parents and I love spending the holidays with them, but this may be one looooooooooooong break. -
War on Christmas
Like clockwork, every December some of the news pundits will start going on about how there is apparently a War on Christmas. They complain about how Christmas is under assault, when in actuality it is that Christianity is losing its special exemption from the separation of church and state. Dammit, Obama! Part Two
In response to his selection of Rick Warren to give the invocation at his inauguration, Obama has said that he did so to incorporate a diversity of viewpoints into the ceremony.
