I think I'm going to go for house number two. I don't mind being on my own so much, and I can always go out and see my friends. Mainly I'm used to having the extra space as I have a whole house to fill with my stuff at the moment so house number two with it's two rooms is very tempting. Plus I could have people over to stay :o)

Yeah the extra space is a massive bonus, I love having friends over, and my parents sometimes come to visit (they live 200 miles away) so they need somewhere to sleep as well. Everyone's persuaded me, 2 miles is nothing at all really is it? :o)

Thank you, I'm kind of excited about it now!

hm, well personally i dont mind having more time on my own and i could not give up on having a lot of space of my own!
but maybe being on your own every evening and weekend would be a bit too much.. it depends how well you get on with the people that would be your flatmates though, theres no point in having 3 flatmates if you dont think that you would enjoy spending time with them

at least they are both the same price, thats one less thing to worry about!

I'd go for 2. But I'm much more reclusive than you maybe. Need my own space. And storage.
2 miles to town is doable. Yeah. in fact all the down points on this one are easily dismissed.

Sweetheart - you won't know yourself once you start interacting with the world as just you :D Good luck honey xx

I know, I'm kind of looking forward to seeing who I'm going to become on my own :o)

I'd definitely go with house 2. Just because after fighting over bathroom and kitchen at Uni I would never ever go back to that. Plus there's secure parking for vehicles. I don't mind being on my own so much so the fact that the other resident is away so much wouldn't bother me. but if you're more sociable then maybe house 1 would be better.

The distance to work and town I guess isn't too bad as you have transport. Decor... can you paint and stuff or isn't it allowed?

Hmm, never thought about painting. It doesn't bother me too much, I can put on my own duvet cover and my own curtains and put rugs on the floor and things, so it should be fine :o)

Looks like I am late to the party..

I would go for house 2, also.
More space and not so many people to share rooms with.
And you are not far from work.
My daughter has to drive 25 miles one way, so a couple miles is really close...You are driving a car now, so the millage shouldn't be a problem.

It would be great to have the extra room for entertaining, and parking in the drive way is better then on the street..

Like lincoln said, you can paint etc if allowed.

I hope you enjoy your new digs...
You are on your way!!!!

25 miles?! Wow, well 2 miles is nothing lol :o)
Yeah I think I'll go for that one, the distance shouldn't really be a problem and a couple of friends have said I can stay overnight at their house if we go on a night out or something, so I think I'll take it! It's kind of exciting :o)

Yes 25 miles!!!!That's always the way it seems to be. Everyone I know has to travel miles to go to work.
My husband had to do the same when he was here, working...

I remember when I was a kid, we lived on the East side of Detroit and my dad worked on the West side. [many miles for him to go to work.]
So we moved to the West side, and wouldn't you know it, they transferred him to the East side.
So it was back to commuting many miles.
You just can't win...

I truly hope you will settle in to your new place and start having FUN!!!!

Wow, that's so annoying for your Dad, I can't believe they did that!

Everyone's persuaded me, two miles isn't very far at all really is it? I can easily get a taxi if I want to have a drink which will be cheap and the rest of the time I can drive or cycle no problem :o)

Thank you, I'm kind of excited about it now!
