I have never, ever liked clowns.  There's always just been something ...wrong with them.  I've never been able to put my finger on exactly what.  Even the happy ones seemed threatening.  Maybe it was the effect of seeing "IT" before I was old enough.  Maybe it's something else.

I hate clowns. Ugh. I'm sure the person that portrays said clown is a very nice person, but don't come near me with you freakish make up and squeaky nose. Just, no.

I think it has to do with "Poltergist" as well. That damn clown doll in the kid's room. It came alive and almost killed the boy. *shudder

Yeah, so no clowns for me either. They suck.

It's amusing to me how horror films seem to have ruined the entire livelihood of clowns. Sort of ironic, really.

You know, I think we ought to try to establish a causal relationship here. Did clowns become scary after horror films began to exploit them, or did horror films exploit clowns because they were already inherently scary?

The former makes more sense to me. I think 'IT' was the film that did it for everybody.
