No B-movie for a month i need my fix......and so i arrive!
Chaos seemed to come from within the pub yet all of us were outside? I hear the bad news and i feel the anger begining to rise and boil. My friend is in bits she gave me this job and this trust and i cant do anything...not a damned thing!
The B-moviers start arriving and word gets round. Crys

Is the venue playing proper silly buggers? Or is it something else? I am so sorry that I could not be there, I could hardly stand up yesterday.

Yes the promtor wants rid i fear and he wont budge,the pub don't seem to back us fully. The promoter basicaly has lied saying that we could have the venue by 9 cleared out and b-movie starting by 9.30 it didn't start till way after 10.30. It was total chaos trying to get tehm out and our lot in but there was no charge so they basically run the night at a complete loss!

I do wish Plum Promotions hadn't gone. This new promoter seems to be a right old nasty piece of work.

The music promoter (not the venue owner) went back on his agreement with the owner. He wants to put bands on every night, regardless of whether the venue has another booking. If you want him not to, you have to pay him off (as has happened to some people arranging a party there).
From what I hear, he was supposed to have the stage area until 9.30pm, while we were supposed to have the bar area, with our DJs, from 8pm-10pm. At 10 the stage was supposed to be clear and we'd move through and start with a bang. He hadn't told the bands this ...

There's a thousand frustrating things about this, but one of them if the way this situation creating divisions between folks that might otherwise get on - there's no *reason* why people going to that gig shouldn't have had fun at B-Movie and vice versa ...

Last night would have been wonderful if they could have but unfortunatly there would have been no room left for B-moviers unless they left, it is too small a venue to have two things going on without the loss of many of the b-moviers crowd. The promotor would never have aloud the profits to be split like that and b-movie could afford to carry on. It is a real shame as some of the bands were really good. But i am afraid that it was very badly handled by the Promtor and the pub!

Thats just it! the drinks have gotten so expensive that the takings are down which ya know furry muff! people can't afford to drink if the price for a drink goes to high! still i hope we move somewhere else ..
