Yep, it's time for a couple photos of the black rescue-kitty. This is him rolling happily on the kitchen mat after a full week of food, rest, and as much grooming as he could tolerate.

Black kitty is indeed a handsome beast! I hope the dematting goes more smoothly. Good luck with the vet check!

He's such a cutie. If I didn't have three kitties already, I'd adopt him in a heartbeat. <3 If he gets his full growth back, he'll be almost as big as Rum. Right now he's singing to us.

Well, even underweight he's a fine looking fellow and I don't think there'll be any problem in getting him adopted out. Mittsy developed some bad matts last year that I couldn't tease out without her getting mad at me; I finally had to take some sharp scissors and cut them away.

Blitz has gotten adept at fence-walking but at least he sticks to the immediate area around our house and is usually ready to come back inside after a good outing.

I've got a lead at work for potential adoption, we'll see how that goes. First is to get him cleared by the vet and make sure he isn't microchipped. Given his ability to climb I wouldn't be surprised if he hopped a ride on a truck or something and got carried away from his home & lost.

Blitz sounds like a sensible kitty. :) There is a type of cat fence you can put on top of the wooden fence to really hold in the herd o'cats. I hope to put that up once our renovations are done.

Thank you! He has a lovely smile and a sweet voice. Which he uses often to carry on a conversation. :)

Aww... he's so cute! But yes, I see what you mean about thin; even with the bulky fur, he's rather skinny. :( I love the blue lights in his fur, and that shine is lovely. Hope the vet-visit goes well. :)

He's just lovely, under the matted fur. It's as if he's got a coat with dreadlocks draped over his body. He's getting shinier with all the grooming and food and rest. Now he wants to *PLAY* and the older cats are like "WTF with this kid??" :)

*laughs* That sounds like our cats! Whiskey is always wanting to play, but Gingernut isn't too keen on the idea. :) It's great that he wants to play, shows that he's getting his energy back. He must be just loving the attention.

I think he is definitely loving the attention and care. Now if only he'll let me finish combing out those mats. :D

I ran him around more tonight with the kitty tease toy. He enjoyed it so much. The older cats decided they might be able to chase it too, which was fun.

What a gorgeous young man! He is awfully skinny though... good thing you found him. Poor kitty. I want to take him in myself! I have a soft spot for black cats, male in particular. My first best feline friend was an all black male cat.

Black cats are cool. I've had a few through my life and they have all had lots of personality. Little by little the kitty will regain all that lost weight. Getting the mats out of his fur though will be a task... right now it feels as if he has dreadlocks in his coat. 0_o
