Mabel, my little cat, got spayed today. I dropped her off this morning and picked her up about an hour ago. She's just stopped hissing at the imaginary cats she's sure have followed her home from the hell that is the clinic's holding room. Poor thing. Being drug-addled and confused is never fun, not to mention the sudden loss of ones girlie bits.

I spent a good chunk of last night baking cookies for a social theory study group taking place this morning. I am now up several hours before said session is supposed to take place baking another batch of cookies because last night's didn't come out quite to specs (although they tasted really good). I got a job this morning. Relief. There's just something about being gainfully employed. I guess it makes me feel like I'm doing all I can. Now nobody has to listen to me whine about being unemployed. The job itself is working in kind of a hole in the wall deli/coffee shop. It's a busy place without an ounce of pretension. I hate talking to friends and finding out that they believe really fucked up things.
