Ahaha, aw, I loved RocknRolla too! Just not as much as I was hoping to. I spent most of it going, MOAR HANDSOME BOB, LESS GERARD BUTLER (UNLESS MOAR GERARD BUTLER RESULTS IN GAY SEX WITH HANDSOME BOB). Thandie Newton was a hot bitch, though, which made me immensely happy. She's just so ~~over your shit, One Two, so DEAL WITH IT.

Just butting in to say a few things:

- Holy FUCK do I love Sunshine. So much. Forever. Isolationist scifi texts in which everyone is nutty (& the acting/directing/cinematography rock) are very happy-making.

- Even before I ever saw Breakfast on Pluto the movie stills were killing me with the pretty. I mean, seriously, HOW is Cillian a prettier woman than anyone I know? Good god, ya'll.

- Oh man, the back catalog. The luck you will have checking out the back catalog of actors in this film is something that NEVER happens (but you saw DeVour so you know what I mean). Homegirl and I once spent part of a summer going into the back catalogs of TV actors we liked. It was a dark & terrible place. We have since realized that we need to be careful with those kinds of excursions.

(Also: you speak lies, I LOVE RocknRolla. Possibly more than Lock, Stock. I hope Ritchie doesn't abandon the sequel.)

GOD, Sunshine was intennnnnnnnse. I was so impressed. I love love LOVE hard sci-fi probably more than anything else, and it fit the bill one hundred percent. I sure hope you've seen Moon, because it's just as much as a delicious mindfuck.

OKAY OKAY SO ROCKNROLLA WAS PRETTY GOOD, AND I TOO HOPE FOR A SEQUEL. I was just kind of...bored in certain places. I think there was too much focus on characters I didn't care about, maybe? IDK, moar Handsome Bob and more Thandie Newton being a hot bitch would've been nice :p

1. I have started on and am toying with a Robert-centric story. Idk if this will get further than googledocs, though.

2. Arthur/Ariadne/Eames poly relationship is now my default worldview. And I think it's equal all the way around where they each fulfill something else the other needs and so on. So I am behind your musings completely.

1. Oh, I would be so on board with any kind of Robert-centric story. Someone showed me a picture of Ken Watanabe and Cillian Murphy being cute and BFF and my brain went HEY NOW. Where's the fic where post-film Saito sort of insinuates himself into Robert's life as a kind of...idk, mentor figure, encouraging him in his business pursuits to further cement the inception and solidify his own interests all while having the huge SO I MANIPULATED YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS TO GET YOU TO DO WHAT I WANT secret hanging over everything. Except for how Saito eventually comes to realize that they kind of did Robert a favor, but how can he reconcile these new feelings of respect for Robert, and genuine happiness at seeing him succeed and become a better man with the fact that they TRICKED Robert into doing it? How would it fucking crush Robert to realize that the revelation about his father was a FAKE and that his whole business model was not actually his idea? AHHHH SO MANY THOUGHTS. I hope your own thoughts find their way out of googledocs

It always makes me feel better when good people are not falling over themselves about (500) Days of Summer, because YES. SUCH BLAH. Ugh, that movie makes me crazy, and so many smart and awesome people were all starry-eyed over it.

And you probs already know these things, but: Brick is fucking phenomenal, possibly one of my favorite movies. Whip It is lesbionic wonderfulness! (Well, not technically, but basically, because hi, roller derby! Lots of hot ladies!) And brace yourself for Hard Candy. It's good, but holy shit.

Ugh, yes. It was a lovely enough film to watch, visually and structurally, but fuck if I didn't want to choke JGL's character the ENTIRE TIME. (My fave feminist blog Tiger Beatdown did a fantastic article about this film's major problems here, which you should read if you haven't already)
