i am officially an alumnus of a very prestigious teaching program. when i went out monday, everyone said, "congratulations." i told them i felt a lot more proud after surviving last year. this year didn't feel like much of an accomplishment. by next year i will be tenured. if i keep up, i think i can retire by age 47. that seems absolutely
