i'm not feeling too effing fantastic. heading out of the city on vacay will be a welcome change of pace.

i am officially an alumnus of a very prestigious teaching program. when i went out monday, everyone said, "congratulations." i told them i felt a lot more proud after surviving last year. this year didn't feel like much of an accomplishment. by next year i will be tenured. if i keep up, i think i can retire by age 47. that seems absolutely ( Read more... )

I was the maid of honor. I found out the day before the wedding. The speech went something like, "Uhhh, I didn't know I had to give a speech. She's kind of a space.
