Day 09 - Your beliefs, in great detail

I can't say honestly that I believe in a God, or in any God, although I would never, either, be able to honestly say I don't believe in one or several. I take seriously many lessons that are handed down from god/the gods, or the wise people who represent them. I do believe that there are forces at work though that may have chain reactions of effects that we can only begin to understand. I believe, with a large dose of realism, in astrology and karma. I believe that there are no coincidences, that we have the power to affect our own lives, and those around us. This doesn't mean that there isn't a science behind it, only that I don't understand the science. I'm not particularly much of a conspiracy theorist but I do believe there are men behind the curtain, perhaps some of them don't even know they are.

I celebrate the solstice, equinox, sabbats and moon cycles as opposed to the commercialized "traditional" holidays. Though I don't shun these holidays, I still get together with family when they get together and enjoy the celebrations as a time to catch up with them. I don't need an excuse to sugar up my kids, dress up, draw on eggs or buy presents for those I care about, and if I did I'm sure I could come up with much better ones ;)
