I haven't seen the rest of your story on illness but I wanted to post to say that I had something like that happen to me a few years back - weird stuff with my hands, blisters, having to hold things strangely, dropping glasses cause I couldn't hold them etc... and it turned out to be shingles. Only worked that out when I went blind in one eye. So hey, random stranger on the internet saying that it may work out in the end to be something like that - good luck with the appointment!
