When I let myself think about it, the fact that my GP decided to fill in my HCAP form as 'severe' really scares me.

Seeing rheumatologist tomorrow, post blood tests and x rays. Here's hoping they know something.

It's for a special consideration/argh I was sick and lazy application - where you need to put in your reasons and then get a doctor/counsellor/someone to sign off on it and they decide which category to put the problem in. I've just copy-pasted from their guidelines, but it just worries me that the doctor thinks it could be that serious I guess ( ... )

(i am sadly familiar with said guidelines.) shehasathree October 23 2005, 15:35:23 UTC
yeah, not fun to have it right there on paper in front of you, is it? (interferes with the whole 'pretending to be a "normal person" thing.)

the possibility of chronic severe medical condition *obviously* sucks but: at least you get documentation for your SpecCon application. (maybe the doctor was being 'nice'? and was going with severe for the purposes of 'interfering with study'/ your application.) and: words/labels don't actually change the seriousness of the situation, so...um. yes. i ran out of what i was trying to say. sorry.

oh, but...yes. i think 'lazy' should be banned from collocation with 'sick'. if you're sick, you're sick, not 'lazy'. or something. god, i am rambling. i should really go to bed about now...

I got the 'severe' box ticked on my last two HCAP forms too (that reminds me, it's about time to do one again). Even though the rating criteria given put it as slight, maybe could be argued up to moderate.

Save your worry for what the doctors actually tell you. Hope they've found out useful stuff tomorrow. *paws crossed*
