let's give this a whirl

i got a couple of rolls of film back from the developers, and was pleased with the results, myself.
i've just recently gotten inspired to take up photography, since i've been up here in the northwest. hmm...i wonder if this could have anything to do with the fact that i'm in an absolutely beautiful part of the country.

Hey... um... Maybe it's just me, but i don't think it's a good idea to advertise for the northwest. Don't get me wrong. It is one of the most beautiful parts of the US, but we don't want to many people to figure that out. They might decide to move out here. The saying "come visit, but please don't stay" is the best way to describe it. Though, we use it most fondly is reference to Californians. The nine months of grey/wet weather seems to keep most of the warm-climate-folks away which makes us happy. You've got to understand that us northwesterners are the decedents of pioneers who traveled far away from known society for a reason- they didn't like cramped spaces and we wanted to get away from their mothers. :-p

Disclaimer:
Actually, it's not that big of a deal. We just like to joke about all the people who've suddenly moved here in the last 10 years. If you do come and visit, I can guarantee that you'll find the northwest very hospitable and laid back. I'm definitely going to miss Oregon once college is done.

's not just the northwest up there, i've got one from texas, too. i think texas is very nice, 's just a very different climate. outside of the weather, austin and portland are pretty much the same.

Wonderful pictures. I particularly love the one of the waterfall.
