From 2001-02 Tribune Entertainment created six Mutant X faux websites as part of the Mutant X official site, in order to supplement the information from the television series. These sites featured a great wealth of background information about the Mutant X characters and plot's storylines, but they vanished in early 2005. Taken from the Internet Archives of Tribune Entertainment's faux website, Genomex.net, none of the following material is my own.

Ever elusive, Adam has managed to hide the truth in not one, not two but three and possibly more lies. As much as I think I know, there is more that I need to know and perhaps the secrets to unlocking him are concealed in his false document trail.

RE: Adam
Sir, As you surmised, the data requested on the subject known as Adam was completely eradicated from our files. I have doubts to its existence before incident X, but all our sources draw a complete blank. I have taken the liberty of employing several background specialists to research the matter. To my astonishment, they turned in separate reports that bore no resemblance to each other. I have summarized them for you below:
1) Submitted by Investigator Hawley. The former Genomex scientist called Adam was in fact the illegitimate child of Eleanor Singer, becoming Dr. Breedlove's stepson upon their marriage. The Singer fortune and well-placed connections kept the boy a secret, raising him in secluded east coast schools throughout his adolescence. Adam's sudden emergence as a vital part of Genomex can now be explained as mere nepotism. This also accounts for the Breedloves' passive attitude toward him after Incident X. Candidates for Adam's father are difficult to pinpoint. Eleanor Singer concentrated on her medical career for most of her youth with no noticeable gaps in time from her education and subsequent practice. Therefore, the baby was conceived and born in her teenage years. She was courted by various Kennedys, Hearsts and Posts, but it is wise not to rule out any attractive male members of the Singer household staff, several of which bore striking resemblances to the adult Adam from photos provided.
2) Submitted by Sara Stein-Glock, Glock Investigations. It is this agency's opinion that Adam is a kidnapped son of European royalty, most likely fathered (or grand-fathered) by the noted scientist, Albert Einstein. This well-kept secret and placement within a powerful American-based organization covers all bases: his unreliable temperament, documented genius and later hostile actions toward Genomex. His focused interest in genetics and perfecting bloodlines also become clear. DNA tests will confirm our data, but we feel 85% certain, the unstable Rostov line is his lineage with 10% in favor of Medici and 5% for Windsor.
3) Submitted by J.D. McCaulay & Assoc. Adam is not a human being, but an early product of the Breedlove laboratory. Based on notes and early university lectures of the noted scientist in the late 1950's, the idea of combining genetics and robotics was often discussed. Thus, Adam is an android, a hybrid of human DNA (probably Breedlove's own) and computer technology. It all fits: he is an artificial man with an unreasonably high IQ and no emotional reasonability; his history begins and ends at Genomex; and finally, the eerie connection he shared with Paul Breedlove fits into place. Therefore, it is this firm's suggestion that the doctor created a Frankenstein monster that is even more dangerous than previously cited. If Genomex wishes assistance in eliminating the subject, McCaulay & Associates would gladly stay on the payroll to finish the job.
Background Check: Dr. Harrison
Harrison is a stealthy adversary. Already he has usurped my authority within the realm that was once Paul's and he has continued to test the boundaries of my restraint. I believe as much about him as I disbelieve. These facts must be checked and rechecked so that I am not caught unawares by this potential snake in the grass.

Mr. Eckhart, Here is the research you requested from Central Bureau. It was a quick turnaround, but I think the details you were interested in are all accounted for. I have left my personal evaluation out, as I now know you operate exclusively off your own instincts.

Kenneth Harrison was born in Sydney, Australia, March 20, 1959. He was the middle child of three to Roger Harrison, a structural engineer, and Margaret Krowl Harrison, a botanist. Kenneth and his siblings (brother Roger Jr. born May 1, 1957 and sister Michelle born September 7, 1962) all acceled academically and were extremely competitive for their parents' attention.
In 1969, Roger Harrison was brought up on charges for murdering his business partner (and wife's lover). He was tried and convicted in 1970. Mrs. Harrison obtained a divorce and moved with Kenneth and Michelle to London, England (Roger Jr. stayed in Sydney). To protect them from further scandal, Margaret Harrison retook her maiden name and had the children do so as well. She borrowed money from a family friend and opened "Krowl Greeneries", the first in a successful chain of greenhouses near Kew Gardens.
Kenneth Krowl grew into an awkward teenager and lived only for his studies, which followed in his mother's field of botany. Their relationship was a temperate one. The more the plant business thrived, the more strained they became. Kenneth's fascination with hybrids produced many award winning varieties of orchids and fame among the gardening community. Surpassing his mother's skills did not help their personal situation.
After obtaining a doctorate in botanical genetics from Oxford, Kenneth planned to leave England and study prehistoric plant-life in South America when his life took a sudden turn. His brother, Roger, reappeared and demanded a piece of the family business. A botanical genius in his own right, Roger Harrison Jr. was also a wild felon with a juvenile crime record in Australia that left him little choice but to leave the continent.
Tensions ran high between the brothers and were pulled even tighter when their domineering mother died from a (presumed) accidental poisoning. The fate of the profitable "Krowl Greeneries" led to many heated, often violent, confrontations between Kenneth and Roger. These peaked in a greenhouse fire that killed the older brother and left Kenneth disfigured (plastic surgery later reshaped his face). He was cleared of all suspicious charges in the incident following a lengthy investigation.
From this point on, the personality of Dr. Kenneth Harrison seems to have drastically changed. Besides reclaiming his original surname, he became maniacally aggressive. While "Krowl Greeneries" continued to thrive, he opened a biological research branch (which eventually became TriCorp Botanical) and switched focus from mixing the genetics of orchids to developing rare, dangerous and sometimes man-eating genera of flora. Campaigning for and receiving various government contracts to produce botanically based weapons brought expansion and power to his enterprise on a global scale. It also snagged him the attention of Genomex.
No longer a shrinking violet, Dr. Harrison became a well-known figure in the scientific community. His lectures at universities worldwide have been sharp, biting and often controversial. They advocate, "control over freaks of nature" and an "intense connection between human and plant biology that could surpass mere medicine extractions". He has also been deemed quite a ladies man, an arena he had shown no interest in prior to the greenhouse fire. In just over a decade, he was married and divorced from four attractive wives (two sons, Julian Edward from his first and Jerod Roger from his third, are currently in private schools outside of London).
Never slowing down or back stepping, Dr. Harrison is still considered a Jekyll/Hyde figure. He can be an extremely focused scientist, silent like a striking cobra or a risk-taking fiend up for death defying motorcycle rides and high stake gambles. Whatever the venture, he will make his presence known.
An interesting side note concerns Dr. Harrison's sister, Michelle. A few years after the Krowl fire, she was diagnosed with fatal leukemia. Her brother gave her an experimental regime of intravenous medicine derived at TriCorp Botanical. Not only did she overcome the illness but also blossomed from an "ugly duckling" into a famed beauty. The exact nature of the treatments has never been disclosed. The usually boastful Harrison has only said his sister's cure was "a fortunate fluke I would not attempt again". Michelle Harrison now calls herself "Daisy" and owns a notorious nightclub in West London called "The Serpent's Garden" which caters to an exclusive and wealthy clientele. She and Dr. Harrison have little or no contact with each other.

Sir, I added my personal observations here between the lines (noted in YELLOW), as you've requested. As you know, this has been a hard one to piece together.
Hardy
NOTE: This is the 3rd revision of this document since Eckhart was first recruited in May XXXX. Each background check on the subject has yielded vastly different information that contradicts previous ones. This effort provides the most solid information to date.
Mason Grey Eckhart was born on June 6, 1962 in the marine base hospital of Fayetteville, Arkansas. There are documents that list his birth date as five years older or four years younger, but US Army records state this is the correct data. Eckhart was an identical twin. His brother, Marcus Aaron, was accidentally drowned in 1970. Eckhart's father was Captain Conner Doyle Eckhart, a chief medical officer specializing in the psychiatric care of mentally unstable marines and veterans. He was based out of the military hospital in Washington D.C. from the mid-1970's until his retirement.
The files on Captain Eckhart speak for themselves. A harsh authoritarian with astringent methods and a passion for homicidal straightjacket cases. Not what you'd call a family man.
Two events seem to have shaped the juvenile Eckhart's demeanor. The first was the suicide of his mother, Marilyn Thompson Eckhart, when the boy was a preteen. The second was an incidence in which he was locked in one of his father's wards for a weekend in what was later explained as a disciplinary action.
I find it curious that there's no mention of the twin brother's death here.
Mason Eckhart attended military academies excelling in the top ten percentile throughout his adolescence and teenage years. His contact with his father was minimal. The bureau recruited him from West Point where he was studying military law. He also was a notable athlete in track, rowing and skeet shooting.
I suggest you read the transcripts of the pro-vivisection debate from his junior year. It's so on point I almost wanted to carve up baby monkeys myself. There is also a noteworthy paper advocating permanent institutionalization of the mentally defective. He sent a copy to his old man shortly after the captain suffered a stroke.
Moving his way up quickly in the ranks, Agent Eckhart was noted for his cold efficiency and attention to detail. He kept his personal life as private as possible. A marriage of six years to Jacqueline LaPort, a former Miss Vermont he had met on a security detail, resulted in three children (a son, Grey Eckhart, and twin daughters, Michele and Deidre Eckhart). It has been verified that Eckhart has had little or no contact with his family since his divorce.
Like father, like son. I have statements with women Eckhart was briefly involved with afterwards. All say he was controlling and at times threatening, but nothing more sordid than your average agent. Seems to go with the job. Of course, Eckhart's condition today makes this all mote any way.
Advancing from criminal psychotics to unexplained phenomena and finally to Genomex security directly under Dr. Breedlove in the 1980's, Eckhart gained major respect from every faction.
I've been told, off the record, that Mason's appointment to Genomex was strictly to off-balance the rising influence of Adam and kept Breedlove center in his judgments on Mutant research.
Eckhart kept in peak physical and mental condition during his Genomex duties until the incident code-named "X" (see reference file) in which his immune system was destroyed resulting in his present condition and medical limitations. Dr. Breedlove's exo-skin and supplement treatments have allowed him to continue in his high-ranking position since that time. Bi-annual psychiatric exams have proven that Eckhart's mental capacity has increased since the incident, eliminating any question of his removal.
You'll note my indication to reference Breedlove's recommendation at this point. It practically glows with loyalty and praise. My instinct says this is 100% guilt on the old man's part, but knowing what we do of Ol' Paul, this would be a first. Don't get me wrong. Eckhart's physical condition might be bizarre, but I don't feel this limits him. He's proven adept at choosing support staff and has a knack for delegation that would have made FDR jealous. Breedlove's fatherly report, however, just seems odd to me.
Eckhart's devotion and diligence to rebuilding Genomex's database since "X" has been commendable. His laser focus and untiring drive to regain control of the mutant situation has been noted and detailed by every level of the bureau on multiple occasions.
Check out some of his daily memos. He doesn't miss a dot.
In conclusion, Mason Eckhart's actions point to a patriot and man of business who has sacrificed much for both the agency and his country. In background, no one else matches his profile and expertise in this unusual area. His unique past and eccentricity seem to work to an advantage in this assignment. Pending further investigation, there is no reason to block his advancement to the top seat at Genomex.
No argument from me either. I wouldn't want to grab a drink with this guy, but as far as zookeepers go, he's got the right stuff and then some. Face it, this is not a job I'd wish on anyone, even my lousy brother-in-law. If Eckhart is crazy enough to accept it, let him.

Gentlemen (and Ms. Rawlings),
This subject is vital enough that I will deign to jump through a few hoops to see it happens. The mutant situation worsens on a daily basis. Dr. Breedlove is not a young man any more and in any scenario his expertise and heart are in a laboratory not the world beyond. The Children of Genomex are no longer "children". They are the inheriting generation of the world and are coming into power that must be curbed if normal humanity wishes to survive.
Since the backstabbing events of "X", Genomex no longer has an iron grip on the mutant population. Dr. Breedlove claims he is rebuilding the database that Adam stole, but it is slow coming and will only have a limited reach in comparison to the control we once possessed. Adam's recent movements in establishing an underground "misshapen" army also necessitate the urgency for a specialized task force (see attached Incident Reports X19-47). No one has paid the price for this rogue demagogue's actions than I, but I stress the GSA is not a personal vendetta. It's a matter of national protection and patriotic duty.
As outlined in several meetings and documents before, what I need is a troop of hi-tech dogcatchers. They will dress and function as any other security team but their single goal will be controlling the mutant masses before they control us. Among these agents I will place special operatives previously as discussed. These select men and women have unique qualifications to deal directly with the dangerous nature of our desired targets. As promised, these ultra-agents will not be allowed in the field until they have undergone rigorous conditioning at Genomex. It will be similar to the rehabilitating treatments their prey will receive when apprehended.
On a personal note, Mr. Marston, I need not remind you of the near tragedy concerning your daughter's fiancée that my contacts averted last month. You almost ended up with a mutant in your own family, which could have brought down everything we have built to this point (the young man is doing well, by the way, his powers subdued and attitude thriving in the usual Genomex fashion). While I do not wish to embarrass you, I can only use this incident as a harbinger of how close and lethal the mutant state of affairs is to us. We cannot let the animal acts run the circus. It's time to crack the whip. Give me my GSA and we will.

Subject: Transfer of GSA Recruit Bigelow
All departments are to take note of an upgrade in status for Michelle Bigelow from first year recruit to full task force field agent. Effective immediately, she will report to Mr. Eckhart and Mr. Delay. All of Agent Bigelow's previous duties are to be reassigned no later than 10AM this morning and reported to Mr. Delay. His secretary will not accept transfer slips after this time and insubordination procedures will go into effect for the tardy.
Agent Bigelow will continue her daily medical regime with Bio-research, so Dr. Harrison's staff will not be effected by the change and, thus, exempt from the mandatory paperwork. Mr. Eckhart wants it made clear to this branch, however, that the treatments on Agent Bigelow (a psionic New Mutant) augmenting her Telecyber abilities are to be increased and honed to perfection within a time frame that is at least two years ahead of its previous projection. She is now considered a CODE GREEN priority in development (budget approvals for extra computer equipment and "melding losses" need to be submitted to financial no later than noon on Tuesday, cc to Mr. Delay's office).
While extending congratulations to Agent Bigelow, Genomex would like to remind all New Mutant recruits that it was her attitude and focus that won her this privileged advancement in rank. It is regrettable more of you do not follow her example. The chance to integrate and be given limited command should be motivation enough to follow in Agent Bigelow's footsteps. If not, please note there is currently space open in the stasis pod facility. Let that serve as additional inspiration.

By now many of you have seen the police posting that depicts Genomex foe Adam of the outlaw Mutant X, (security file #EOG00MX1H) as a wanted criminal. While we are not deluding ourselves into believing this fluke is anything but temporary, the window of opportunity it presents cannot be ignored.
The New Mutant responsible for this fortunate deception is a Psionic named Marc Griffin (security file being processed). His apprehension is MANDATORY (CODE RED). All branches of Genomex are henceforth notified and put on call until he sits (unharmed) within our walls.
Griffin is a telepath with the ability to induce amnesia in others and rob them of their memories. This is how we believe he framed Adam for murder. Mr. Eckhart has no illusions that this situation will not be reversed, but he feels the access Griffin now has to our number one enemy's mind must be harvested. This is a chance to end the threat of Mutant X once and for all, clearing a way for patriotic glory over blatant terrorism.
As a New Mutant, myself (Reptilian Feral), I can only agree with Mr. Eckhart. Our kind must work with the government, not against them. The capture of Griffin could help Genomex change the world. All staff members are encouraged to use every resource at your disposal to seeing we succeed (evaluation of individual performances by Mr. Eckhart and myself will follow).
Be warned, Griffin is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS specimen due to the nature of his powers. Four top-rated GSAgents have fallen at his hands (survivors have been relocated to stasis pods for their lack of accomplishment). All missions are to be coordinated through myself via Mr. Eckhart's office.
WARNING: To All MALE Genomex Staff
There is a female New Mutant currently being pursued by the GSA who has exhibited a toxic mental hold over all men she comes in contact with. Reportedly, they lose all self-control and become, in a sense, her thralls.
The subject, Lorna Templeton (security file being collected), has already taken down two topflight GSAgents (Ames and Halloran) set on her trail along with a host of Genomex associates who have succumbed to her unnatural powers of persuasion. While Mr. Eckhart has kept Templeton's capture a CODE RED priority, he warns that any further male employees who surrender to her feminine temptation, on or off the job, will suffer repercussions of the severest level. At the same time, he is drafting all qualified female GSAgents to resume the assignment.
Dr. Harrison has classified Templeton as a Feral, type Insecta. Specifically, she is a scorpion hybrid capable of spraying mind-dominating venom from a stinger that emerges from beneath her skin. Besides this feature, she could also be described as dangerously attractive. As the existence of Insect Ferals has only recently come to light, all company labs have been put on 24-hour shifts to focus on the subject matter until further notice.
All male staff members should be on the guard until Templeton has been apprehended and subdued. Not only are displays of common desire a direct hazard on this project, but also against Genomex policy in any situation.

Facility Safety Update
Effective immediately, all Genomex employees with security clearance level 4 or less will be subject to spot searches and must present a valid Genomex employee ID badge at all security checkpoints. All employees with a clearance of 5 or higher will be subject to search at the direction of Mason Eckhart or any of his direct reports. Remember, this is for your safety and the integrity of the company.refusing to cooperate with these new procedures will result in the termination of your employment contract.

Sir, As you can imagine the recent takeover has left many Genomex employees on edge. I for one, however, think that freeing the mutants is exactly the direction we should have taken. Of course I am somewhat disturbed about Mason Eckhart's fate, but feel it is a semi-positive sign that Mr. Ashlocke did not simply put him to death. Psychologically, this act gives me hope for the young man now in charge.
Speaking of which, Mr. Ashlocke has requested that I give him the customary psych-evaluation this afternoon and then forward my results to your office. Again I find this encouraging. He phoned me himself and was extremely polite. Not a monster or tyrant at all. I do not believe he is out to destroy mankind in any way, shape or form (as Mason often suggested he would). Gabriel's chief concern appears to have been for the welfare of his fellow New Mutants. Now that they are safe, he seems to want to attend to Genomex business as usual.
While most of my co-workers are dreading their scheduled interviews with this unique specimen, I am looking forward to mine. I have no doubt I'll be able to reason with him and learn just how the awakened mind of a four-category New Mutant works after twenty-five years in stasis. It should be enough material to fill a book. Perhaps I'll write one when this is over.

After studying a week's worth of data and examining Mr. Eckhart on three different occasions over the last few days, I can safely report that the psionic invasion of his psyche did no permanent damage. He is in complete control of his faculties and should have no problem resuming his full roster of responsibilities at Genomex.
This diagnosis comes as a huge relief considering the potential destruction New Mutant Henry Voight (Genomex security file #EOG7713PVH) could have inflicted on anyone's mental health with the ability to takeover a victim's subconscious and trigger their inner most fears. Mr. Eckhart was subjected to an ongoing onslaught of psychic assault from which he was not able to awaken.
Psionic Empath Voight played out Mason's recurring nightmare of having his vulnerable immunity system exposed to devastating filth and squalor over and over in his head. A lesser man would have been emotionally crippled and risked, at the very least, heart failure. I am pleased to state, however, that Mr. Eckhart seems to have bypassed all of this. Aside from his out-of-character edict not to have the GSA pursue Mr. Voight, leaving capture status at CODE YELLOW, there is nothing usual or effected in his thought processes.
While on the subject, should New Mutant Voight ever return to Genomex, I would certainly like a crack at examining him. His psionic prowess is extremely rare and could be immensely valuable, if conditioned to be used with discrete purpose. Henry Voight can dictate an average man's dreams, which are a dangerously underrated state of behavioral. consciousness. He is every psychiatrist's aspiration.
Concluding, let me reaffirm Mr. Eckhart's complete recovery over would-be emotional wreckage. This solid inner core should, once again, prove he is the right man to head Genomex. Not many could survive nightmare rats crawling through their skulls. Mason has and appears to be stronger for it. As usual he has refused any stress medication, but I believe has asked Dr. Harrison to reline the layers of his daily exo-skin. If that is the extent of his post-neurosis, we are all in safe, gloved hands.

Gentlemen, I am pleased to report that Mr. Eckhart is in tip-top shape mentally and still competent to serve as the head of Genomex. He undergoes a daily regime of taxing health supplements and exo-dermus replacement as an athlete does a gym workout. It never seems to impair his judgment or dedication to the GSA. In short, he's still the man for the job.
In regards to his seeming hatred of mutants, I must disagree with this assessment. Mason hates chaos, not mutants. He has an ideal of what our country's stability should be and feels it must be preserved. Keeping a short leash on this emerging breed is his way of controlling a wave of change that may be too dramatic to survive. I must admit, I agree with him on this. The current world is far too paranoid and trigger-happy to deal with a new species of human.
It is not Mason's wish to eradicate New Mutants, but to focus their existence into a major defense league, using them to protect our way of life. He wants to create heroes but do so with an unyielding discipline so they do not overthrow the human regime when they succeed. Granted, his high intellect may be masking a different agenda (he does this often), but I feel if his true mission was sabotage it would have surfaced long ago when Adam was on still at Genomex constantly a thorn in his side.
So, until the next psych-check is due, rest assured the right man has his hands on the pods.

I have doubts to its existence before incident X, but all our sources draw a complete blank. I have taken the liberty of employing several background specialists to research the matter. To my astonishment, they turned in separate reports that bore no resemblance to each other. I have summarized them for you below:
1) Submitted by Investigator Hawley. The former Genomex scientist called Adam was in fact the illegitimate child of Eleanor Singer, becoming Dr. Breedlove's stepson upon their marriage. The Singer fortune and well-placed connections kept the boy a secret, raising him in secluded east coast schools throughout his adolescence. Adam's sudden emergence as a vital part of Genomex can now be explained as mere nepotism. This also accounts for the Breedloves' passive attitude toward him after Incident X. Candidates for Adam's father are difficult to pinpoint. Eleanor Singer concentrated on her medical career for most of her youth with no noticeable gaps in time from her education and subsequent practice. Therefore, the baby was conceived and born in her teenage years. She was courted by various Kennedys, Hearsts and Posts, but it is wise not to rule out any attractive male members of the Singer household staff, several of which bore striking resemblances to the adult Adam from photos provided.
2) Submitted by Sara Stein-Glock, Glock Investigations. It is this agency's opinion that Adam is a kidnapped son of European royalty, most likely fathered (or grand-fathered) by the noted scientist, Albert Einstein. This well-kept secret and placement within a powerful American-based organization covers all bases: his unreliable temperament, documented genius and later hostile actions toward Genomex. His focused interest in genetics and perfecting bloodlines also become clear. DNA tests will confirm our data, but we feel 85% certain, the unstable Rostov line is his lineage with 10% in favor of Medici and 5% for Windsor.
3) Submitted by J.D. McCaulay & Assoc. Adam is not a human being, but an early product of the Breedlove laboratory. Based on notes and early university lectures of the noted scientist in the late 1950's, the idea of combining genetics and robotics was often discussed. Thus, Adam is an android, a hybrid of human DNA (probably Breedlove's own) and computer technology. It all fits: he is an artificial man with an unreasonably high IQ and no emotional reasonability; his history begins and ends at Genomex; and finally, the eerie connection he shared with Paul Breedlove fits into place. Therefore, it is this firm's suggestion that the doctor created a Frankenstein monster that is even more dangerous than previously cited. If Genomex wishes assistance in eliminating the subject, McCaulay & Associates would gladly stay on the payroll to finish the job.

Mason,
I kept the meter running at my monthly lunch with Dr. Breedlove today and have gleaned the following. Paul is definitely in an advanced state of denial that is nearing dementia. The truth about his past, the genetics work, Genomex and Adam are all a blur to him. He seems to have bought into the PR department's gloss about the clinics and views himself as a noble research pioneer and the savior of children. He even speaks of Eleanor as if she were some departed saint (a 180 from what he felt when she was alive). The methods of genetic breeding he cannot easily explain are utterly forgotten. In fact he refers most matters in those areas to you.
This would explain his ease at "going public" next week. It's a subconscious unburdening of complex guilt. If the entire organization topples, so be it. He'll be clear to enter the Gates of Heaven. Frequent mentions of his long dead sister, Liesel (the zealot), imply a religious fervor that must have lain dormant since childhood but have now surfaced in his twilight.
Fears like this are common for men Paul's age, but few still wield the authority he does. If asked whether he will go through with his plan and use it to atone his conscience, I would have to answer yes. His anxiety over the past and what will befall him in the afterlife far outweigh the sacrifice of everything else.
