(Jaejoong- 23, Yunho- 25)

( 1:45 pm )

Standing in the hallway in his white tuxedo, Jaejoong bit his lip nervously as everybody began to fill in the church. His mother had been fussing all over him, brushing over the lapels of his suit and grumbling about the way the hair stylist styled his hair. He felt like a parade float, smiling and having his picture taken by numerous people.

“You look wonderful, my dear.” His mother told him, but her smile barely reached her eyes as she eyed irritably at his hair.

Jaejoong sent her a warning glare before his gaze shifted towards one of his sisters, “Did you see Yunho?”

Lina nodded, “I think he’s with Yoochun.” Ah, the best friend. Yoochun was one of the few people who knew about Yunho’s condition. If there was anybody he would trust Yunho with, it would be him.

Despite of the beautiful decorations and soft piano playing within the church, Jaejoong had a gut feeling that it was too impossible for this wedding to turn out perfect. Eyes widening, breath hitching, Jaejoong pleaded to his sister, “Can you go and check on them?”

(1:48 pm)

Yunho was sitting in a musty room full of boxes and prayer books. Yoochun was pacing back and forth, dashing in his tux. Compared to him, he looked like a guy impersonating a game show host. The window was open because his best friend was so nervous, he opted for a smoke.

“Do you have the ring?”

He stops pacing for a moment and flicks the ashes out of the window. “Yes. How are you doing?”

“Nervous.” Yunho replied, needy for a flask of alcohol to calm down his frazzled nerves. He could hear people talking and laughing outside the room. He was sweating so much and his head ached a little.

Oh no. Headaches are never a good sign.

Yoochun was startled when Yunho shot out of his chair and went to the window. The groom hung his head low and tried to regain his breathing. As he wheezed through his lungs, he vaguely noticed a strange noise coming from the shrubbery below. Leaning farther to take a closer look, Yunho was stunned to find himself sitting in the dirt, soaking wet and breathless.

( 1:50 pm )

“Holy shit.” Yoochun cussed, which he quickly slapped with his hand after realizing that he was still inside the church. “Yunho??” he called, surprised that the groom was nowhere to be found. “Oh no, not today!” he frantically searched all over the room and out through the windows, finding no trace of his best friend.

There was a knock on the door and his panic increased at the sound of Jaejoong’s sister’s voice. “Are you guys ready?”

“Um, yeah, maybe an hour and a half would do!” Yoochun hollered, still unsure of what he was supposed to do to salvage the wedding. He could already imagine the disaster brewing upon the absence of one of the grooms. For sure, Jaejoong would be devastated.

“What? We don’t have much time. The ceremony’s about to start.”

“Er,” there was a sound of clambering behind him. Looking back, Yoochun was once again taken aback at the sight of Yunho. Only twenty years older. “Five minutes!” Turning around, he grabbed the suit jacket and helped the older man into it. “Thank god you’re here.”

Yunho looked so much older yet still quite handsome. Yoochun thought he had aged really well. “I can’t miss my own wedding.” Even his voice sounded deeper, more masculine.

Yoochun nodded, “Yeah, let’s just hope they won’t notice the gray hair.”

( 1:57 pm )

Standing in the vestibule of the church, Jaejoong nervously glanced at the altar, noting the absence of his future husband. Closing his eyes tightly, he recited a silent prayer, hoping that it would somehow help him in this inexplicable situation. Seriously, no one would believe him if he told a slapdash story of his future husband leaping through time. The thought of it only made his stomach clench harder.

Opening his eyes, he caught the sight of the man he had been looking for standing in front of the priest with his back turned towards him. Yoochun was right beside him, dusting off invisible lint across Yunho’s broad shoulders.

“Let’s get this show started,” His father said and the song started playing.

Walking towards the altar was shorter than he would’ve expected. Glancing at Yunho, Jaejoong’s eyes widened at the sight of him. He was wet, a little dirty and unshaven. He looked about forty. ‘At least he’s here.’

Yunho briefly gave him a winning smile as they proceeded to exchange their vows.

( 7:05 pm )

Everyone was sitting down to dinner and no one could find Yunho. Jaejoong asked Yoochun but the man just gave him this reassuring look as if saying that he was sure Yunho will turn up any minute. Well, most of the guests are beginning to wonder why the groom wasn’t in the reception, mingling and conversing with them.

Chaelin, another sister sat next to him and asked, “Where’s Yunho?”

“I don’t know, noona.”

Suddenly, she grabbed his arm and pulled him closer. “I saw Yoochun carrying a pile of familiar clothing out of the lounge.”

Jaejoong realized that Yunho probably snapped back to the present and he would have a hard time explaining why he looked different all of a sudden. Should he tell a crapload of story involving a library emergency that required Yunho’s immediate attention? But how was he supposed to do that when all of his co-workers are in the ballroom. Should he try spreading Yunho’s intermittent amnesia, causing him to wander away?

It didn’t help that his father went up to the stage and requested for the newlyweds to perform their first dance. Jaejoong began to sweat profusely, his face turning ashen white by the second.

“Oh there he is!” Chaelin shook his arm.

There he was, standing in the middle of the floor, looking very much younger than he was a few hours ago. Releasing a sigh of relief, he stood up and sauntered towards his husband. Yunho took his hand and pulled him closer. “Hi there, stranger.” He was back in the present, his younger Yunho, the one he was supposed to marry.

Yunho chuckled and kissed him softly, “I’m back.” They danced to their wedding song as the crowd simply melted into nothingness around them. All they could see were each other.

( 10:45 pm )

Once the party was over, the couple went straight to the hotel room they rented for the night before heading their way to Fiji for their honeymoon. Upon seeing the king size bed in the middle of the room, the two men shared a joyous and mischievous look. Once the bell boy closed the door, both of them kicked off their shoes and started jumping up and down the bed like silly little kids.

They were finally married!

Unable to contain his excitement, Jaejoong jumped a little higher and ended up tripping on the bed sheet, falling on the bed while giggling nonstop.

Yunho growled and made a move to jump on him. Not wanting to be jumped on, Jaejoong closed his eyes, laughing as he raised his arms as if to protect himself from the onslaught of weight.

But it never came.

Opening his eyes, Jaejoong found himself alone in the bedroom with a pile of clothing on top of him. Releasing a tired sigh, he reached for the silver band, Yunho’s wedding band, and slipped it around his finger, right on top of his own ring.

This was definitely the highlight of his wedding night. Unfortunately.
