I just got back from an amazing Sufjan concert.
I would like to point out the instrumentation:
3 violins
2 viloas
2 cellos
1 trombone
2 trumpets

Add in a rhythm section and there were 14 people on stage

oh my god, I can't believe you went. a bunch of vassar kids were going to go, and then parent's weekend decided to happen at the same time!

it was better than his boston show, the orchestra really thickened up his sound which is what the boston show lacked
also the opener (my brightest diamond) was the band of one of the illinoisemakers

the only bad thing about the show was in predatory wasp when it gets very quiet, there was a huge loud buzz that ruined the song. sufjan ended up just saying that thats what the predatory wasp sounded like, and then eventually started the song up from that point in the song and continued.

The best part of the Boston show was in Casimir when he was making that funny face to sing the hahh-hmm.
