I started my oregano, peppermint, cilantro and rosemary today.  I didn't realize that the seeds were so freakin' tiny!  I think that once the plants get pretty big, I might put them outside as a container garden on the porch.  Actually, I sat outside today and made a whole drawing of what I want the landscaping to be eventually.  I want to put down ( Read more... )

I went to Earth911.org and found a recycling center I'd like to try.  So if anyone I know wants to save up this stuff, I'll take it in for you.

I finally got to work on my yard yesterday since I was off and it was so beautiful. I pulled out nine old dead bushes, which was HARD. I mean, wow. But now my big brick planter is free, and the soil in it looks very nice and dark and earthy. I saw several worms. I should be able to plant lots of flowers in it. I bought two Seventh Generation recycled paper towels today; the jumbo roll unbleached ones.  I told Mike we can use them for napkins or to clean up animal messes, but to please use the reusable cloths I bought for general cleaning purposes.  The paper towels were actually on sale and it made them cheaper than the jumbo roll of name-brand regular ( Read more... )
