I did make it! It's always been one of my very favorite photographs, and it was also the first one upon which I stumbled (already in my saved documents) for my little friends-only sign thingy. :)

As a note, if you "backdate" your entry, but set the date in the future (by, say, ten years) then it won't show up on your friends page but will always show up ahead of any new public entries you may choose to post. Not sure if that's of value (e.g., if you'll be making any other public entries or not) but it's sort of a hack of how LJ processes backdated entries.
