Secondly, go to Google and look up "search engine". What would you expect to come up first? What DOES come up first? Odd? -
RSS feeds...
You may not know this, but LJ uses a technology called RSS to let you know when a friend has made a new post. You can use a program like FeedDemon or Google Desktop to subscribe to an RSS feed.
