weasel and stoatmy_tara_toryJanuary 6 2007, 05:00:23 UTC
Finishing that one made me feel I actually got something accomplished over the holidays. This Draco is sort of out of character, but boy was the stoat fun!
What a lovely way to while away an evening! I loved Draco's inquisitive mind, the way he was constantly looking both for ways to further his ambition, and to just learn what that ambition should be. An absolutely wonderful romance, with quite the exciting action plot to boot!
on it's underside -> its They twice they came -> too many theys! it's legs -> its Weasely -> Weasley (more than once) with just a affected a little -> affected just a little owlry -> owlery
That was fabulous :) The attack on the Headmaster's office, the veritaserum interrogation, Hermione's snail advice, Ron's speech to the Gryffindors :D
Thanks for pinpointing the errors. The possessives are always a problem for me, and I have no idea what happened to the spell check, but it would do the red line thing on some words, but not others. Maybe I should go see if somehow some wrong words got added to the dictionary.
Research for this was fun. Things like the snails parasites eating weasel brains is just amazing. It was part of some research to find out why weasel types do this insane hyper-spastic dance sometimes. This study suggested that having things chewing on your brain would make anyone flop around and jerk like a crazed thing. Only apparently ferrets and relatives do it without ever touching a snail. The jury is still out.

Did you go look at the illustration that was my muse? Now there is an adorable stoat! Google Image / White ermine. Ignore the first 4 moths. Just look at those ears. And that pretty mouth. It's almost a christmasy picture, with that red and white.
And I promise. No Squid/Owl pairings. Ever. Probably.
It took me a while to get to this, real life just kept rearing its ugly head. But once I was finally able to settle down and read it, boy, was it ever worth the wait. Very original, super exciting plot and Draco/Ron worked for me ... and that is no mean feat. Thank you. I love everything you write.
Oh, do you suppose we could have a wee sequel to find out who was behind the plot? Pretty please?
Well, the next part is the Snarry, if I can figure out the details of the plot. I am thinking that for this, Harry and Severus also need animagus forms. But what? Nothing appeals that hasn't been done to death. Although I might have to bite the bullet and figure out what animals go best with the plot and go on from there. Actually what works best is a spider form for one of them, but I refuse to make either of these men into a spider. Don't like spiders. They are not cuddle-some.
Your Snarry is my very favorite of all. I trust your judgment here, but just a passing thought. I to think of Severus as a hedgehog. He's so prickly on the outside, and we know he's really 'cuddle-some' inside, when it comes to Harry. And Harry would make a pretty good kneazle. He's got so much magic, he must be a magical creature, surely. A kneazle or a crup would give you some wiggle room, as we really don't know much about them from canon.

And I can't tell you how glad I am that you've posted a new story. You're one of my favorite Harry Potter authors.
