Oh Luke :( I've not spoken to Chris in a long long time. I tried to catch up a while ago but he just said he was disconnected from everyone at the moment and wouldn't be able to connect again after he left university/Lincoln.
Double-standards were an issue whilst you two were dating (one rule for him, one for you) and it seems that has continued into your attempted friendship with him. That's not fair. You don't have to tell your parents everything you're doing, your friends everything you're doing, your ex-boyfriend everything you're doing. It's your business who and what you share. That definitely applies with this case too.
I've got my fingers crossed you for you and this new chap :)
I know we chatted about this yesterday but just wanted to add my thoughts! I think you've done the right thing in avoiding contacting him now, although it may seem strange now it is for the best as once you're out of feeling the necessity to contact him, i.e. you feel guilty that you haven't seen him in a while and feel like you should be friends, you will probably feel more relaxed with future relationships and will maybe find that you naturally fall back into contact with him, or not. Either way, I think whatever is for the best will come out of it :-) hope you're well! xx.
