As a fashion deprived child I once attempted to talk my mom into buying me orthopedic shoes and yet even I am appalled by those things!

Except for the Egyptian sandals things although I would never actually buy them.

Oh sweetie, no. You can do Egyptian-style sandals without making your legs look 50% shorter and 30% wider! I promise you!

It's all in the shape and location of the straps. That example is just wrong and bad.

Dang - we have to go shoe shopping one day!
