I think one of the most uncomfortable moments was definitely when Cuddy and Wilson almost looked like they were doing in together, my heart just broke a little for House.
No way he can deal sensibly with this level of change, and I'm so worried for Cuddy and how much suffering she may have to come..
yes, that was one of the things I have noticed immediately. The opposition of House versus Cuddy&Wilson. It's like "we are standing here, we've made a step forward" and "you're still there" This is kind of symbolic because in a sense both of them has made a step forward with their lives. Wilson got into serious relationship (it backfired but not because of him) he had found a happiness with Amber. And now Cuddy has decided to adopt a child (thus pursue her dream) and is happy (we know it won't happen, but the point is she has taken the risk, has made this step). House on the other hand is standing where he was. After the bus accident he hadn't changed anything. He needs to make this step. It's hard, it's terifying and I feel for him, but I hope he will find the courage. I hope the kiss will represent it.
And Cuddy... oh, I can't verbalize my anxiety for her. It will be crushing for her and for me...
great observations. i share the same, too. i was most specially amused by House being taken a back with not knowing the adoption thing before hand. Look at his face! and the way he swallowed!
It was fun to write this. Usually, after watching a new ep my head is just full of those kind of thoughts and analysis. Hopefully I'll have time to write them :)
I think you're great! perfect analysis and I totally agree with you that's why I think this scene is so important for the kiss, because the kiss rapresent House's choice to move forward i.e show to cuddy how much he cares about her and how much he needs her in his life. I also hope that in the next episode Wilson will confront House about his feelings for Cuddy, because it would be really weird if He doens't face a topic like this after House's reaction in the baby shop.

ITA! Couldn't say it better. I hope that is the direction the show is heading. Because development of a character implies a moving forward. I always find it disappointing when D Shore says that House will never change. because this means House will always stand in one place never move forward, never develop as a character. Yet... in every episode we see developments of House's character, because House is changing. I just hope Shore is aware of that now.
This is AMAZING!! My bad english dosen't allow me to discuss this with you, but I just want to let you know that everything you wrote in my opinion is SO RIGHT. It's the perfect description of everyone's (House/Cuddy/Wilson) feelings in that scene.
