Technical gripe

At work, my icons keep resetting whenever I reboot. This has happened ever since IT pushed a patch/update to the computers over the network last week. They don't know what is causing this to happen--there is no explanation for it. They even deleted and reinstalled my profile (which caused me to lose all of my settings--grrrrr), and that didn't ( Read more... )

Not a silly gripe at all. If you can't get upset by something little, the big things that upset you are the only things you can worry about.

:)

Well, it is rather annoying to have Windows undo your customization. It's like sitting at a strange computer.

This is a most serious complaint. How do they expect you to work in an environment like that? *hugs you* *prepares to join you on the picket line*

Oh, 'Lyssa! I had such a wonderful treat in my garden today. A hummingbird came to visit the few flowers I have. It stayed for the longest time, slowly moving from flower to flower, as if giving each one a careful inspection and it's personal seal of approval.

Oh, wow! That *is* such a treat!! I love hummingbirds but rarely ever see them. I am so happy for you! :)

*hugs you, hugs you!*

I will have no Internet at work tomorrow. :( Actually the whole network will be down because they are working on the fiber optic cable. So, I can't really work at my desk, but I can start packing our office for the big move in a few weeks. It's a half day anyway--the staff picnic is at the dean's house in the afternoon. Sheryl will be there, and if given half a chance, I know she will say something to the dean about my not being hired after he told her he wanted to hire me last year. Should be interesting.... She wouldn't say anything to embarrass or hurt me, but if he brings it up she won't shy away from it.

They aren't common here either. It was so tiny too. I wonder if it was a young one. Not that the adults are that big... Sorry. I'm gushing. It was quite the nicest thing that happened to me today.

Well, I'll have to cancel that big fic then, if you don't have internet at work tomorrow. Just kidding! There is no fic... or rather there is, but it's still a WIP. Have fun at the picnic... and if Sheryl lets the dean have an earful... more power to her. He deserves it. *hugs you tight*

Sorry. That was indeed me. It's my latest thing. I forget to log in. *sheepish* Sorry.
